Now for something current...
It's cool enough to swim finally! (I'm only exaggerating a little bit here.) We had Aaron and Rachel over to kick off the start to Fall Break!
Karate Jump!
Did I mention we have a new pet, Marvelous the Fish?
AND, it was Wacky Hair Day at school:

What fun!

Guess who went swimming!!
He wasn't so sure about it, and this was pretty much his expression throughout the entire experience:
(Look at his cute toes! )

Ivy's a great swimmer!

Ivy has been taking swim lessons at EVO and she just graduated up to the next class level! She has come a LONG way from throwing a fit before every lesson. I'm so proud of her! You can read about her here on the WEB!

Ivy's a swimmer
Ivy is a swimmer!
It's really a must here in Arizona especially when you have a diving pool in the backyard. But we are so proud of all she has accomplished in swimming lessons in the last six months!
Check her out! She's graduated from the Otter Class!

Watch out, Phelps.
Today was the Evo Swim School Olympics!! I registered the kids several weeks ago, while the Beijing Olympics were happening. Eli said to me, completely stressed out, "Mom! I don't want to be in the Olympics!!!" I assured him that these weren't the real Olympics, and he felt much better.
Notice Eli's oversized and upside-down goggles.

In the middle of his watermelon race, he had a Phelps Goggle Moment
Don't worry, he still beat the World Record for Watermelon Racing even with his defective goggles. That's because at home when we were training for this event, I would sometimes step on his goggles and then give them to him to race with. We were ready for anything.

Thanks, Evo, for a totally fun afternoon!
Lizzie and Eli both got to compete in mini-races. The Kicking Race and Freestyle both went smoothly:
And then there was the totally fun Watermelon Race!

And there's the thumbs up! It was a fingertip finish!
Thanks, Evo, for a totally fun afternoon!

She takes the plunge!
Ivy is starting swimming lessons at none other than Evo Swim School, expertly run by our friends the Taits! This will be Ivy's first experience, other than nursery, of cutting those proverbial apron strings. It will be so good for her! And since she loves to be in the water, this will be perfect.
Eli took alot of pride in comforting her younger, inexperienced sister. And Lizzie was just jealous of both of them!
This will be good for all of them!

ISLAND of BIG SURF
Once a year, Honeywell treats its employees to a free day at Island of Big Surf, Phoenix's greatest water park! Did you know that this park is where the first "wave pool" came into existence?!

Over-inflated tube + a Super-lightweight kid = Pulling a Homer Simpson. Eli got stuck in the dark, hot slide halfway down, and the lifeguard had to push him out.

And since we're talking about swimming and all, check out these Brave Ivy pictures from last weekend! When did she become a daredevil??

Eli was impressed!
